Atlanta, GA – One Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-285
Atlanta, GA (May 24, 2021) – On Monday morning, May 24, a fatal pedestrian accident took place on a major highway in Atlanta.
According to officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Memorial Drive. A pedestrian was crossing the road in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
