6/8 Crawfordville, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Camper Fire on Saggus Rd

Cordele, GA (May 25, 2021) – Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 25, a fatal house fire occurred on a roadway in Cordele.

According to authorities, the accident happened at a home on GA-280. Crews arrived at the scene to find a small home completely engulfed in flames and learned that two people were trapped inside. One person was able to make it out alive but the other was still trapped when fire crews went in.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time following the fire.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
