Statesboro, GA – Teen Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on US-301
Statesboro, GA (May 27, 2021) – At 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday morning, May 26, a teen was killed in a fatal truck crash on a Statesboro highway.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on US-301 at Adabelle Road. A 17-year-old female driver was on her way to the Statesboro High School when her vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler struck her forcefully, causing extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 17-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
