Sandy Springs, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision in WB Lanes of I-285
Sandy Springs, GA (August 18, 2021) – At 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday morning, August 18, a tractor-trailer collision occurred in Sandy Springs.
According to officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 29, Ashford Dunwoody Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when a tractor-trailer collided with them. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
Two or more lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time, which led to extensive delays.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
