Jonesboro, GA – Car Accident at Tara Blvd & Mt Zion Rd Intersection
Jonesboro, GA (August 19, 2021) – At 3:47 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, August 19, a car accident with injuries occurred in Jonesboro.
According to Clayton County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Tara Boulevard and Mt. Zion Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time until police cleared the scene. They urged those in the area to use Highway 54 as an alternate route.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
