Sandy Springs, GA (August 20, 2021) – After 10 a.m. on Friday morning, August 20, a car crash took place on a major highway in Sandy Springs.

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened on GA-400 around the area of I-285 near the Canyon Ridge Apartments. Sandy Springs initially spotted a suspect of a shooting crime and began to pursue him. However, he attempted to elude police as they worked to box him in. This caused a serious car accident between his vehicle and patrol cruisers.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The officers involved in the crash sustained injuries but are expected to be okay. One of the officers allegedly suffered from a head injury.
