Summerville, GA (August 20, 2021) – On Friday, August 20, a two-vehicle crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Summerville.

According to Chattooga County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and Sloppy Floyd Lake Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
