E Point, GA – Bus Accident with Injuries at Main St & Womack Ave
East Point, GA (September 16, 2021) – At 6:31 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 16, a bus accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in East Point.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Main Street and Womack Avenue. A MARTA bus was traveling through the intersection when the bus slammed into a passenger vehicle in the area. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Several people on the bus and one or more victims inside the passenger vehicle were injured as a result. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
