DeKalb Co, GA – Vehicle Accident on I-285 at Peachtree Indus Under Investigation
DeKalb Co, GA (September 19, 2021) – On Sunday evening, September 19, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Atlanta, resulting in injuries and involving at least two vehicles.
Deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the accident occurred approaching the exit ramp from Interstate 285 to Peachtree Indus around 9:00 p.m. The wreck reportedly happened near milepost 30.5, blocking all left lanes, and involved two cars that collided for unknown reasons.
DeKalb paramedics and fire crews responded to the scene of the crash and worked to assist victims. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
It appears that at least one victim was treated at the scene or transported to the hospital via ambulance. Officers collected evidence and conducted the on-scene portion of their investigation, though they are still working to piece together the events leading up to the incident.
DeKalb County officials have not released any identifying information about the drivers involved.
