Smyrna, GA – Car Accident on I-285 Near S Atlanta Rd Leads to Injuries
Smyrna, GA (October 2, 2021) – At 12:17 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, October 2, a car accident with injuries occurred in Smyrna.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Atlanta Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were injured in the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
