Smyrna, GA – Car Accident with Injuries at S Atlanta Rd & Hawthorne Ave
Smyrna, GA (October 4, 2021) – At 8:28 a.m. on the morning of Monday, October 4, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Smyrna.
According to Atlanta officials, the accident happened at the intersection of South Atlanta Road and Hawthorne Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Multiple lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
