Silver Creek, GA – Man Dead in GA 101 Head-on Collision at Wax Rd
Silver Creek, GA (October 7, 2021) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, October 7, a serious accident with injuries and one death took place on a Silver Creek highway.
The three-vehicle wreck occurred on State Highway 101 near Wax Road, per reports from authorities. Police say the crash caused the death of a 39-year-old man from Rockmart.
According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, the man died from massive trauma. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene at 8:25 a.m.
Initial reports said that the man was traveling northbound on Highway 101 near Wax Road when a southbound Chevy Avalanche crossed into the path of his Jeep Patriot, hitting it head-on.
The driver of a vehicle behind the victim was unable to stop in time and also struck his Jeep.
Officers released no further details, though they say the investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
