Milledgeville, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Boating Accident on Lake Sinclair
Milledgeville, GA (October 29, 2021) – Around 1:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 27, a man was killed in a boating accident on a lake in Milledgeville.
According to Baldwin County Police, the accident happened on Lake Sinclair around the area of the Baldwin County airport. An 80-year-old man was out on his fishing boat on his birthday when his boat was suddenly struck by a second boat. The operator of the other boat remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 80-year-old man was severely injured and was rushed to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin Hospital for treatment of his injuries. However, he tragically passed away while there.
The area was blocked for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
