Decatur, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision with Injuries on I-285
Decatur, GA (October 30, 2021) – At 8:22 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, October 30, a tractor-trailer collision occurred on a highway in Decatur.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Covington Highway. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it collided with one or more passenger vehicles. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in two left lanes for a period of time, which led to delays in the area.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
