Augusta, GA – Injuries Reported in Motorcycle Accident on Washington Rd
Augusta, GA (February 1, 2023) – At 7:50 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, January 31, a motorcycle accident with serious injuries occurred in Augusta.
According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened around 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Washington Road and Bertram Road. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when it was struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known. The motorcyclist was thrown off of their vehicle and onto the ground. Severe debris was left behind in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the accident. They were transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The roadway was blocked until approximately 9 a.m. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
