Toccoa, GA (March 28, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle collision that took place in Toccoa on the afternoon of Sunday, March 26.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 4:16 p.m. on GA-106 near the area of New Hope Road. Police confirmed that a 44-year-old man was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle headed south on GA-106 when he was struck head-on by a driver in a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford allegedly crossed over into his lane of traffic.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist was thrown off of his motorcycle and into a nearby ditch. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.

Police claim that the driver of the pickup truck, a 77-year-old woman from Toccoa, sustained minor injuries in the accident. She is now facing pending charges for her role in the accident.

The highway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays until the scene was fully cleared.
