Albany, GA (November 7, 2019) – Police responded to the scene of a school bus accident at a local intersection in Albany that caused ten students to suffer injuries. One person was cited for the accident.
At around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, November 6, police claim that a 35-year-old man was driving west on Maryland Drive when he came to a stop sign at the intersection of Eugemar Drive. The school bus started coming north through the intersection. The man drove on, disobeying right-of-way laws, striking the school bus.
Police claim that the man did not come to a complete stop at the intersection and was driving without insurance.
There were 42 students on the bus at the time of the collision. A total of ten students were taken to one hospital while six were taken to another. Luckily, police claim that all parties are expected to be okay.
Various personnel was assisting at the scene including the Albany Police Department, EMS, and Albany Fire Department.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
