Atlanta, GA (February 9, 2020) – Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night, February 8, one person was killed in a fatal three-vehicle collision on US-78 in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department confirmed that the collision took place on US-78 around the intersection with Matilda Place.
One driver was entrapped in one of the vehicles. At the time, a Mazda 3 was headed westbound on the highway when it crossed over the lane and struck a Ford F-150 head-on. The Mazda was then knocked into a third vehicle.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the drivers and two passengers were transported to the hospital but they are expected to be okay.
Police continue their investigation into the collision.
