Bartow County, GA – Apparent Hit & Run Kills Bartow County Woman

Bartow County, GA (May 30, 2023) – Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the second fatal accident that occurred in our area during the Memorial Day weekend. This incident, suspected to be a hit-and-run, took place in Bartow County.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Monday, the Georgia State Patrol responded to a request for assistance from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office regarding a woman’s body discovered on the side of East Pleasant Valley Road.

Both agencies determined that the woman had fallen victim to a hit-and-run incident. Her body was found on the northside of the road and appeared to have been there for several days, as decomposition had already set in. Unfortunately, her identity remains unknown, as she did not have any personal belongings with her that could provide clues. The body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab for identification.

To aid in the ongoing investigation, a specialized accident re-enactment team from the state patrol will be involved.
