Clayton, GA (January 25, 2020) – Around 11:14 a.m. this morning, a serious tractor-trailer accident involving two passenger vehicles closed down a portion of GA-15 in Clayton.
Police confirm that a 68-year-old man was driving a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer traveling south on GA-15 behind a 2016 Toyota Rav4 being driven by an 82-year-old man.
The 82-year-old slowed down to make a left turn but the tractor-trailer did not stop and it into the rear of the vehicle. The Toyota then collided into a 2020 Corolla being driven by a 30-year-old man.
The 82-year-old man was rushed to a Gainesville hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, a 78-year-old woman, also sustained injuries and was transported to a local area hospital via medical helicopter.
The 30-year-old victim was also hospitalized.
Charges are pending at this time as police continue to investigate.
