Monroe, GA (May 7, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that happened on a major roadway in Monroe on Saturday afternoon, May 6.

According to Walton County Police and Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 3 p.m. on GA-11 around the area of Mountain Creek Church Road. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling south on the highway on a green motorcycle while approaching a private driveway. At that time, a driver in a Black Buick Lacrosse attempted to make a left turn out of the driveway, striking the motorcyclist. Their motorcycle ran into the driver’s side door of the vehicle, leading to severe damages.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in all but one lane for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
