Austell, GA (August 26, 2019) – Police confirmed that a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Floyd Road. The accident was deemed a hit-and-run.
Cobb County Police responded to the scene of the crash on Friday night around 11:20 p.m. They confirmed that a 44-year-old man from Atlanta was killed in the accident.
A dark Ram pickup truck had been headed northbound on Floyd Road when the pedestrian suddenly walked into the path of the truck and was struck. The pickup truck driver did not stop at the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian was immediately rushed to the WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was tragically pronounced deceased. Evidence from the scene indicated that the truck was a 2013 model with extensive damage to the front end.
An investigation into the accident takes place at this time.
