Fort Oglethorpe, GA – Serious Pedestrian Accident on Battlefield Pkwy
Fort Oglethorpe, GA (December 23, 2021) – Around 10 p.m. on Thursday night, December 23, a pedestrian accident occurred in Fort Oglethorpe.
According to Catoosa County officials, the accident happened on Battlefield Parkway around the area of Golden Corral. A 75-year-old local man was attempting to cross several lanes of traffic in the area to get to the Golden Corral restaurant. He was suddenly struck by a 55-year-old man driving a Jeep Liberty. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was seriously injured as a result of the accident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for some time. Police quickly worked to fully clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
