Griffin, GA (September 16, 2020) – Around 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, September 16, a car accident with injuries occurred in Griffin.
Initially, the Griffin Fire Department was dispatched to West Taylor Street for a house fire. They temporarily closed the roadway down for emergency vehicles to get through until they had the fire under control.
Police then said that once the roadway was opened, a two-vehicle collision occurred in the same area on West Taylor. The accident occurred near an intersection where one vehicle struck the side of another. The vehicles were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene.
One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. However, they are expected to recover as the injuries were only minor.
According to police, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for a second time that afternoon.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
