Lee County, GA (March 18, 2019) – On Tuesday evening around, 6:00 p.m., police reported that a woman was ejected from her vehicle following a car accident and was quickly airlifted to the hospital.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that the victim was ejected after her 2001 Saturn was struck by another vehicle when she was leaving her job at the Salt Lick Sausage Company on Highway 82.
She had been stopped at a stop sign when she attempted to pull out onto the highway and a 2015 Lincoln Navigator collided with her car. The Navigator had been struck by a 15-year-old who was driving with her mother and twin sister.
The female victim was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital for treatment. She was alert and able to answer questions after she was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle and her mother also received injuries but they are expected to recover.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
Dealing with the aftermath of a car accident can be one of the most difficult aspects you will ever experience. We would like to extend our sincere sympathies to those who have been injured in this collision and hope that they will receive a speedy recovery.
