Savannah, GA (September 22, 2020) – On Wednesday night, a teen was injured in a serious pedestrian crash in Savannah. The teen has since been identified and their condition was updated.
The accident, according to police, took place on Whitefield Avenue. At the time, the 16-year-old male was crossing the street when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He was put on a ventilator and had bleeding around the brain. He is expected to recover in the ICU for several more days.
The roadway was closed down in the area following the collision so that police could clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
