Ringgold, GA (April 13, 2023) – Around 4:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, April 13, a serious pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Ringgold.

According to Catoosa County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 around the area of exit 353, Cloud Springs Road. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the southbound lanes of traffic. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

No further details have been released, but the investigation continues.
