Athens, GA – Pedestrian Accident Leads to Injuries on E Green St
Athens, GA (September 17, 2021) – At 11:25 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, September 16, a pedestrian accident occurred on a roadway in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened on East Green Street. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were struck by a passenger vehicle in the area. The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was injured in the accident. The party was rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
