Rossville, GA (March 7, 2023) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that took place on a major roadway in Rossville on the evening of Tuesday, March 7.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 7:16 p.m. on GA-2 around the area of Pierce Drive. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking south across the street when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle. Several other vehicles then struck the pedestrian near Shiloh Baptist Church. It is not known if all of the vehicles remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as a male pedestrian, was severely injured in the accident. They were tragically pronounced deceased while on scene.

All westbound lanes of traffic were blocked, and one eastbound lane was completely shut down until police were able to reopen the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
